Our job in task 2A is to create a wordmark out of our name, which
must include at least four letters. This wordmark will serve as a
distinctive and one-of-a-kind personal identification.
Before starting this project, I tried to find some inspiration.

I decided to use my name "XINYAN" for this project.

After receiving feedback from Mr. Vinod, I realized my word
mark was pointless. Finally, on the advice of Mr. Vinod, I chose to redesign my font.
And give up hand-painting and choose AI.

Digitalization
Next, I'm going to digitize my design.

Mr. Vinod’s Instructions:
- Create landscape A4 artboard.
- Place the wordmark inside the large square on the left.
- Place the wordmark within a 15mm x 15mm square in the upper right
corner.
- Search online for models wearing black t-shirts and place text
markers on the t-shirts.
In Mission 2B, we were tasked with creating an animated key artwork,
designing three collateral, and creating a new Instagram account.
We were tasked with designing a t-shirt, lapel pin, an animated key
artwork and an Instagram account
(or follow the instructions in class) to transform key artwork into a
brand. Students will first create animated key art and fine-tune the
result, before moving on to other collateral materials: T-shirts, lapel
pins, and finally an Instagram account. The output must be the result of
in-depth exploration and must visually and textually convey the desired
message and mood set by the key artwork and its functionality.
Then I started looking for a color palette that would suit
my name.

Selection of color
Later I started trying different colors.I chose this palette
because it has a sunny, warm and clean feel to it.

We need to make promotional material first.
I then continued with my item design. The items I decided to
design were shopping bags, boxes, and pants.

Production process
After getting Mr. Vinod’s feedback, I went ahead with my project.
General: The font layout is difficult to read and needs to
be retyped.
Specific: My font layout was inspired by the Eiffel Tower,
but the text layout makes it difficult to read. After getting feedback
from Mr. VINOD, I thought I could rearrange the text according to the
shape of the Eiffel Tower.
Week6
General: The design of the first shopping bag is okay, but
the logo placement of the second flat carton is a bit
inappropriate.
Specific: The replacement of the box’s logo and the position
of the letter “i” will give a better visual effect.

Week8
General:No problem.

Reflections
Experience
Among all the projects, I think task 2B is more difficult for me because I have never designed product packaging before. At the same time, I am also looking forward to this project very much. This was a very interesting challenge because I included my name "XINYAN" in the design. The most exciting thing was that I felt very accomplished when I was able to wear the clothes I designed that day. I often get a little confused during the creative process, but after Mr. Vinod’s guidance, I corrected my mistakes of irregular fonts. This project was a very rewarding challenge for me.
Observations
A good brand logo must have the ability to be remembered by viewers. It needs to be concise and clear, but it should not be too concise and should have details.
Findings
A good product logo should not be too complicated to dazzle people. It
should have distinctive colors and contrast.

The fundamentals of logo design, such as adaptability, simplicity, and
recognizability, are introduced in the book. Every phase, from
ideation to final product, is covered, along with how to collaborate
with clients to comprehend their objectives. Numerous case studies of
real projects are also featured, which shed light on the difficulties
faced by designers when they are developing their work. Decisions and
challenges. I gained a lot of knowledge about the real-world uses and
approaches to logo design from these instances, knowledge that will be
useful to me in my next design endeavours.
