Visual Analysis Is a method of understanding design that focuses on the visual elements and principles. In its strictest definition - a description and explanation of visual structure for its own sake. Yet the purpose of visual analysis can also recognise the choices that a designer made in creating the design, as well as to better understand how the formal properties of a design communicate ideas, content, or meaning. Visual analysis is a critical part of visual literacy, a skill that helps people read and critically interpret images, whether in a museum, on social media, in entertainment, advertising, or the news.

As citizens of the 21st century, we are constantly confronted with visual media. Practising visual analysis sharpens critical judgment skills and helps people seek out answers instead of passively receiving information.

Visual analysis can include three phasees

• Phase 1: Observation

This design work is vertical screen design. The main colors observed for visual elements are red flesh color and haze blue. This is a very thoughtful design. There are words around the bottle, and the shape of the wine spray is also designed into words, which is very eye-catching.

• Phase 2: Analysis

The diagonals of the design are relatively balanced, focusing on the text of the wine and the bottle. The cork for the wine bottle flew out  guide reads the words "New Voyage" formed by spilling wine. There are some drops of water on the bottle, indicating from the side that the wine is fresh, perhaps from the fridge. The overall composition is all around the bottle, very unified.Any possible openings have been filled in with words in harmony.

• Phase 3: Interpretation

This is a poster designed by South African Artist Ian Jepson to celebrate the voyage discovery. This was a very popular design style at the time.In the late 13th century, the travels of The Venetian merchant Marco Polo were written in the east Square described as the land of gold, rich and prosperous, caused the West A rush to the East in search of gold. However, the Ottoman Turks. The rise of the empire, control of the east and West traffic arteries, the opposite. Its merchants taxed and extorted, and war and pirates plundered them, trade between east and West was severely hindered. By the 15th century, Portugal and Spain had achieved political unity. The process of centralization, they opened up new shipping routes to the East,Seek eastern gold and spices as important sources of income. This Thus, the merchants and feudal lords of the two countries became the first colonies in the world Civil aviation

My interpretation:

This picture shows a very serious phenomenon in China in the past, "son preference". In the past, Chinese people always wanted their children to be boys rather than girls. They thought that boys were better than girls. Even by the time those children grew up there was a social preference for sons over daughters. So this is the case in the picture, with the same degree some companies tend to give preference to male employees.

My interpretation:

My research work is about the opening of new shipping routes, which reminds me of land as opposed to navigation. Land reminds me of trees, so I made a poster about the origin of Arbor Day.
My design can awaken people's awareness of caring for the natural environment and let people know that afforestation is the best way to resist floods, which can prevent houses from being damaged by floods and have a certain impact on the business environment. For example, more trees or green plants can make the business environment more vibrant. My design is to let people love green plants, actively plant trees and create a better environment.
Introspection:

Visual analysis include Observation,Analysis,Interpretation three phasees.

What I enjoy most is the process of analyzing works, which allows me to observe small details that I would not normally notice and spend time to study them.

The last thing I like is designing my own work because it makes it a little bit difficult.

In my learning process, I learned to analyze works from multiple perspectives. It also changed some of the way I think about things, and made me learn to look at things from different perspectives.

What I need to improve in this module is my final work, which should be more detailed.
